A versatile writer and performer from Toronto, ON, Laura Nikifortchuk was hand picked to host/co-produce ‘Danny’s Upstairs,’ Danny Aiello’s popular comedy clubs in Hoboken, NJ.  She has opened for many international headliners including Emo Phillips and Jackie Mason.

Laura is a member of The Friars Club and The International Women’s Writing Guild. Laura has written for a number of organizations including Toronto Tourism, Guardian Entertainment, Revolution Earth Productions and the Rock Bottom sketch comedy troupe. She has also assisted with Public Relations for the Canadian Comedy Awards.

Laura’s television and film appearances include George A. Romero’s “Bruiser” and “The Buzz” on the Comedy Network and MLB.com. Numerous live performances include Second City, Yuk-Yuks, Playbar (U.K.), Danny’s Upstairs, Gotham, The Improv, Stand Up NY and Rascals. Charitable involvement includes annual appearances at the Gilda Club and Easter Seals.

Laura’s education includes a diploma from George Brown in General Arts and Science, as well as a diploma from Humber College in Comedy: Writing and Performance. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Second City’s Conservatory Program and after graduation returned as an instructor of Improv, Problem Solving, and Introduction to Communication until 2006, when she moved to New York City.
